Good job Snoop!

One of Maggie's favorite activities is to watch Snoopy jump up in the air and catch things. It doesn't matter if it's tennis balls or popcorn, it makes her laugh every time (as long as you say "good job Snoop" afterwards). Here's a video of her having a good 'ol time.

Unexpected trip to Rome...

It is with great sadness that I post that my grandfather on my mother's side passed last week. I will always remember him as the model of patience, stability and good ol' common sense that I aspire to someday resemble. Among other things, he taught me that no task was too small or too large to do yourself. He will be missed by all of us.

On a lighter note, Maggie was on hand to brighten the mood and she did a wonderful job. She let everyone hold her without fuss and was full of smiles. Here are a few pictures of Maggie with her Great Grandmother Margaret and her cousins John and Joseph.

New and exciting things

It has been a week full of exciting new things for Maggie. She loves her new booster seat, and now she can sit back, relax and enjoy all of the action when Daddy is cooking dinner in the kitchen.

Maggie has also learned that her feet are so much fun to grab. Sometimes she hangs onto them so hard that it seems like she's afraid if she lets go, they will fall off and be lost forever. And yesterday she finally got her right foot up to her mouth and popped it right in! She's also building up her arm strength, as you can see by her baby "push-ups".

Excerpts from Maggie's diary

Friday evening: sit and look cute on the couch

Saturday morning: have a post-breakfast chat with Daddy in the hammock

Saturday morning, continued: do some birdwatching

Saturday morning, part III: look cute again (man, it's hard work being a baby!)

Saturday evening: giggle hysterically while Momma makes funny sheep noises

Practice makes perfect

Maggie is getting quite strong these days, and we've been practicing sitting up, with the help of our Bumbo seat. Not only is she learning to be upright, she is starting to discover the world of toys, rattles, and mirrors. And she has also learned that her favorite thing to chew on is Momma's knuckles (no teeth yet, but she sure can clamp down!).

A conversation with Maggie

Will took this video several days ago, but I just now downloaded it off the camera and I thought I'd post it so others can enjoy this little conversation with Maggie. Some days she can be quite the chatterbox!
