Under quarantine!
Well, it turns out that the "illness" I developed while traveling was shingles! I am slowly starting to heal and feel better (and look human again), however, Maggie now has chicken pox. (She was scheduled to get the chicken pox vaccine in a month, so the good news is that now she will have one less shot to get.) Luckily, she doesn't seem to be bothered too much by them at this point...she actually seems oblivious to the fact that she has red, itchy spots all over herself.

Maggie's 1st Christmas
Maggie and I went to stay with my folks in TN for a week before Christmas while Will installed hardwood floors in our house. It was a good trip, despite a few unexpected "surprises" (an early winter snowstorm, a 48 hour power outage, Maggie starting to cut another tooth, and me getting sick). Here are a few photos from the trip, along with a couple from when we returned home (including one of our beautiful new floors...Will did a great job!).
Just a general update...Maggie is almost 11 months old and she's starting to get around fairly well these days. She's "military crawling" (basically pulling herself forward on her elbows), and she's now deciding that this may be better than rolling, which was her preferred method of moving up until this point. (In fact, I was beginning to think she was never going to crawl because she was so content to just roll wherever she wanted to go.) She is also learning that when you stick your hand out with a Cheerio in it, a beagle will usually find it. :-)

Happy Hoppers!
For some reason, this video that Will took the other evening really cracks me up. I think it is the look of concern on her face. Or maybe it is just the penguin jammies.

Maggie's travels
We spent Thanksgiving week traveling to see my parents in east Tennessee and Will's family in north Georgia. Maggie did very well, and really enjoyed seeing her grandparents and cousins, but she was also happy to be back in her own crib when we returned home. I realized once we got back home that I hadn't taken enough pictures, but here are a few that I did manage to get, including Maggie's 1st Christmas present (a month early) and swinging with her aunt Katie.

Southern Magnolia
The weather has been fantastic for the past few days, so Maggie and I have been relaxing outside and catching up on some light reading.
And what's more refreshing than a lazy afternoon in the yard?
A warm bath!
