walking...well, sort of

We found this walker on FreeCycle and Maggie seems to enjoy it.

Easter road trip, year 2

We repeated our Easter road trip from last year (see our posting from last Easter by clicking here), first making a stop in Asheville to play with Maggie's 2nd cousin Morgan (who is 6 weeks younger than Maggie), and then heading on to east Tennessee to visit my folks. It was a great trip for everyone. And Maggie even said her first sentence, "more cheese" (well, actually it was really "mo chsss").

chicks, man!

As most of you know, we have been keeping chickens in our backyard for several years for the fresh eggs. This year, we decided to get a batch of baby chicks and split them with some friends. They arrived today, 28 chicks total, in a package no bigger than a shoebox. We got several different varieties, including Rhode Island Reds, Silver-laced Wyandottes, Araucanas, Australorpes, Cuckoo Marans, Pearl White Leghorns, and Buff Orpingtons (plus one "freebie" - a fancy crested breed that our friends' children have named "Mr. Puff Ball Head"). As you can see from the picture and video, they are completely adorable! And even more adorable is the fact that Maggie has been saying "bock bock bock" all day!

canoe, round 2

After Maggie had her stairmaster workout, she decided to give the canoe another try.

hanging out with Daddy

Anytime we're outside, this is what Maggie loves to do. She'll go up and down the steps for 30 minutes at a time, and if you try to pull her away before she's done, she get so angry. Warning: these videos may make Grandmamma and Mimie nervous, but trust me, she's done this before and has all but mastered her technique. :-)

spring!

I don't have any new pictures from this week, but here are a few from last week. Spring has arrived and Maggie loves to be outside, even if the beagles are stuck inside.
