This is supposed to be the "time out" chair, but both girls seem to enjoy sitting in it too much.
Maggie insisted it was Snoopy's birthday and he needed presents.
My folks are in town for the holidays, and last weekend my brother was also in town for a visit. Maggie enjoyed showing Uncle Chris all her puzzles and Little People farm animals.

Maggie's preschool had a little Christmas program today, and it was pretty freakin' cute hearing them all sing carols. The funniest part was actually when Maggie's friend Eli (standing up in the red shirt) raised his arms and was excitedly yelling "my mommy's here...there's my mommy..."hi mommy!!!" over and over again.
Maggie wasn't too enthusiastic about singing...this was her expression pretty much the entire program.
And then she went over to cling to her favorite teacher, Miss Nila.

So... besides the girls liking it too much, how does the "time out" chair work for you? I may have to implement one soon. Poor Snoopy... he looks a little older than last time I saw him (about 8+ years ago), how old is he? I can't wait until school programs. I bet it was adorable... the younger the better.
ReplyDeleteSnoopy is 11.5 years old...an old fella! He is pretty much all white in the face, and he's going deaf (which may be a good thing in this house full of chatty cathys). We go back and forth with the time-out chair...it doesn't work that great b/c Lilly always wants to crawl towards Maggie, and then I just have 2 screaming kids when I pull her away. Lately I've just been putting Maggie in her room. I didn't want to at first b/c all her toys are in there and I didn't want her playing with them during "punishment" but the most recent discipline book I'm reading says time-out is really more so a kid can be alone and calm herself down, and that their room is a fine place.
ReplyDeleteThe preschool kids were pretty cute...especially the 3 and 4 year olds who were actually singing and dancing. I don't think any of the 2 year olds sang at all (as you can see by the kids standing next to Maggie). Do you think you'll put Archer in preschool next year? It's been really good for Maggie and I've really noticed a decrease in her shyness.
