As you have seen in some of the previous posts, Maggie loves to paint. Here are some of her most recent creations, which I think are pretty fantastic!

Maggie has loved books ever since she was about 6 or 7 months old, and every now and then I'll catch her sitting quietly flipping through a book. I managed to covertly snap this photo of her with one of her new library books.

After a long, hot dry spell, it finally rained this past weekend!


My folks recently got Maggie some fingerpaints, which she loves. But her technique involves brushes (instead of fingers) and arms/feet (instead of paper). You'll notice that she was also inspired by my toenail polish.

Anytime I'm having one of "those days", I think I'm just going to look at these pictures to remind myself just how lucky I am!!

Not exactly child related, per se, but I am so excited to have my beloved 1958 Cavalier CS-72 back in running shape again after a 14 year hiatus, I had to share a few pictures.
She faithfully vended to the general public in her early years, kept dad's beer cold in my childhood home and again for me in college until the compressor ran out in '97. Now she has a new compressor, a reworked condenser, a few new touches here and there, and with a 'borrowed' coin changer (thanks Todd!), once again vends like new (see video - that's right I took a video). One of the few remnants of my heritage as a would-be fifth generation Coca-cola Bottler if the family hadn't gotten out around the time of the New Coke fiasco.

A few new reproduction 'dress-up' decals. Not part of the factory model, but often placed on by the bottlers themselves to improve the look of the machine.

We are now stocked with lots of glass bottle beverages. I am pretty sure PBR was originally sold in these machines, right?


Once you insert the coin, you can select and remove one bottle of your choice.

Katie & Kris' wedding

This post is a little bit late, but a couple of weekends ago we drove over to the mountains for Will's sister's wedding. It was a great weekend, and a fabulous ceremony in a beautiful location, not too far from the Nantahala River. We stayed in a plush cabin just yards from the little mountain stream where Katie and Kris got married. And Maggie and Lilly got to spend some quality time with Mimie, Pappy, and lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
